One of those places I'd go back to just for the neighbourhood. Edo-period estate, tatami rooms, garden – and next to LOG, which alone is reason enough to be in Onomichi.

Groups of 4+ – the full house needs people in it; for two it's a lot of space.
Anyone drawn to traditional Japanese interiors done properly.
People already planning to explore Onomichi for a day or two.
Good to know
Rent the full house or just the upper floor (Kumo) – for smaller groups, Kumo makes more sense.
You can get breakfast at LOG next door.
What stood out
The hinoki bath. Wood, garden view, quiet. Built an evening around it.
