Who is it for
2 people who want to be somewhere together without distraction. One bed, one big room, that's it.
Hikers and ski tourers. The Val d'Hérens is all around you – trails, alms, peaks.
People who don't mind earning their warmth. Chopping wood and getting the fire going is part of the stay.
Good to know
A car makes life easier. Public transport gets you to Suen; from there it's a mountain path.
The path to the chalet is steep. A backpack is the right call.
Fondue and raclette equipment is waiting. You're in Valais – it would be wrong not to.
What stood out
The big south-facing window cut into the old barn wall. Opens the whole facade to the valley and peaks. The light inside moves all day.
