Casa Döbeli
17th-century stone house in one of Ticino's wildest valleys. Russo is the kind of village that feels genuinely forgotten – in the best way. Kurt Tucholsky and Max Frisch found their way here. Easy to see why.

House
Who is it for
Groups of up to 6 who want proper Ticino seclusion.
Anyone drawn to the Onsernonetal – hikers, people who just want to disappear for a week.
Good to know
Local shop in the village; pick up Farina Bona – the regional cornmeal specialty – while you're there.
Not ideal if you need everything on one floor – the house runs across three levels.
The church bell is charming. It will also ring more than you expect.
Open April to October only.

What stood out
The view of the church tower from the loggia, and the valley behind it. Quiet in a way that takes a day to get used to, and then you don't want to leave.
